In honor of beloved Beverly neighbor Pete Frates, Friends of Pete worked with the Beverly City Council to change the name of the neighborhood playground to “Pete’s Park”. Changing the name was an exciting first step in a larger vision that will transform the park into something worthy of Pete’s namesake. The vision is to transform the park into an all-inclusive, multi-use, integrated park that meets the ADA’s (American’s with Disability Act) standards of accessible design. A park that Pete can visit to watch his daughter Lucy play with his nieces and other neighborhood children.
The people of Beverly felt this would be fitting tribute to Pete and honors his commitment to increase awareness for ALS; and his mission to help raise the funds that will help find a cure. To learn more about Pete, visit petefrates.com
